Cleaning Campaign at Al-Baqbouq Nature Reserve Beach
As part of the Lebanese Civil Society project for a Mediterranean free of plastic, supported by the European Union and implemented by the Lebanese Environmental Movement and the Lebanese Environment Gathering through various activities carried out by NGOs to remove plastic pollutants, organize awareness campaigns, and implement small projects aimed at reducing plastic sources, the Green Southerners Association, in cooperation with the Abbasiya Municipality and Action Against Hunger, organized a cleaning campaign yesterday, Friday, 21 May, at Al-Baqbouq Nature Reserve Beach - Abbasiya. During the campaign, more than 300 kg of plastic waste discarded by the sea, which is among the most common pollutants on Lebanese beaches, were removed.
