4th and 5th Awareness Workshops for Fishermen on Plastic Pollution in Tyre
In the framework of the “Al Sayyad Al Bi’i” project implemented by the Green Southerners organization in cooperation with the Araya Environmental Association, with the support of the Canadian Grant Project for Local Initiatives and the Tyre Municipality, and in the presence of the Mayor of Tyre, Mr. Hassan Dbouk, the Green Southerners team held the 4th and 5th awareness workshops on the 20th and 21st of January 2022. The workshops focused on the dangers of plastic in the sea and were attended by 180 fishermen in cooperation with the Fishermen Syndicate at the port of Tyre, during which 200 landing nets designated for collecting plastic pollutants were delivered to the participants.
