Naqoura Forests
The Naqoura woodlands extend to the coast, which consists of a rocky shore and a calcareous cliff (Al-Bayyada), along with underwater and semi-submerged caves. It is considered one of the most biologically diverse coastal sites in Lebanon, home to groups of sea turtles that nest north of it on the Turtle Beaches of Mansouri, Qlaileh, and Tyre, as well as the Mediterranean monk seal and several species of sharks. According to multiple surveys, this area was classified as completely free of pollution (0%) and ranked first among Lebanese coastal sites.
