Open National Appeal to Lebanese Leadership Regarding the Adloun Project

We address and appeal to His Excellency the Speaker of the Parliament, President Nabih Berri, to intervene and prevent the implementation of this project, which threatens to destroy this historical and environmental site. We rely on His Excellency’s commitment to preserving this national and human heritage and assisting us in enacting a law to declare it a natural and archaeological reserve within a comprehensive development plan aimed at revitalizing the historic town.

We also appeal to His Excellency the Prime Minister, President Tammam Salam, whose intervention we respect, to prevent the destruction of this unique human and cultural site. We alert all parties and hold them responsible for the catastrophic damage that could result if this project continues unchecked and silence prevails.
