Notification to Judicial Authorities in Lebanon

In violation of the law and the official letters issued by the Ministries of Culture and Environment including the attached letter dated 09/12/2015, which explicitly demanded the suspension of works and based on a previous written request submitted by the Green Southerners Organisation, which was reaffirmed today, 22/01/2016, by the Minister of Environment, Dr. Mohammad Machnouk, to the Ministry of Public Works to halt the works, the contractor “Khoury Contracting Company” continues to destroy the historic waterfront of Adloun and encroach upon public maritime property, which includes highly important archaeological and environmental sites.
