Official Institutions

Partner in enforcing environmental laws and protecting natural sites, public land, and wildlife habitats.

Green Southerners works with official institutions across Lebanon to protect sensitive natural sites, strengthen environmental governance, and safeguard public land. This cooperation includes ministries, municipalities, the judiciary, and the Internal Security Forces. Each plays an essential role in enforcing environmental laws, preventing violations, and supporting the protection of forests, wetlands, coastal zones, and wildlife.

The organisation provides environmental assessments, field data, and technical guidance that help identify threatened habitats and define their ecological importance. This support includes recommendations for land-use planning, habitat restoration, and the protection of landscapes exposed to urban pressure, pollution, or harmful activities.

Green Southerners also monitors violations against wildlife and reports harmful actions that damage natural areas and critical habitats. This cooperation ensures that threats are addressed, evidence is documented, and legal measures are supported when needed to protect species and ecosystems.

Through this partnership, official institutions become active contributors to the protection of Lebanon’s natural heritage and the long-term resilience of its ecosystems.
