Farmers

Key partner in land protection and sustainable agriculture.

The farmer is the companion of the land and the guardian of its resources, and through sustainable practices, he is a key partner in protecting biodiversity and natural habitats, embodying the deep bond between people and their land.

The Green Southerners Association sees the farmer, above all, as the companion of the land and the steward of its natural resources, and as a key partner in its struggle to protect biodiversity, agricultural heritage, and cultural legacy. He carries traditional knowledge, preserves local crops, and through proper farming practices safeguards soil and water from depletion, maintaining a balanced relationship between humans and nature.

Like the marine fisherman, the farmer is an essential partner in environmental advocacy. He embodies the deep connection between the community and its land, making agriculture an act of belonging and a living memory that is passed down to future generations.

From this perspective, the association treats the farmer as an active agent in protecting both the environment and identity, encouraging support through sustainable agricultural practices and environmental knowledge, ensuring the continuity of his role in caring for the land and protecting the species that share it.
